Phantasm III getting two German MediaBooks Next Week

German phans continue to have fantastic luck with the series! (Recall that in Germany, Phantasm is known as Das Böse!) Last August, I told you about spiffy new Mediabook editions of Phantasm and Phantasm II coming from Black Hill Pictures. These had marvelous new artwork by renowned artist Graham Humphreys.

Black Hill and Humphreys are back at it with two new editions of Phantasm III coming to Blu-Ray next week on January 25th. One features new artwork by Humphreys that finally welcomes Rocky to the cover and the other features older international artwork. Strangely, nothing from the second cover actually hails from Phantasm III. Click either artwork to see it larger!

The first two covers are pretty standard, but the third and fourth are all-new and quite exciting! Angus Scrimm's Last Film Arriving on Halloween

Writer/director/producer Dan Golden has gotten in touch with some exciting news - Angus Scrimm's final film appearance, Dances with Werewolves, will be available Halloween 2017 on Amazon, iTunes, Google Play and Vudu VOD. Angus appears in a supporting role as Neumann, a vagrant character. This project truly qualifies as the Tall Man actor's final film as his part was shot long after he wrapped work on Phantasm Ravager. Golden and Scrimm previously worked together on 2006's Satanic, which also starred Jeffrey Combs.

The IMDb plot summary reads, "When Cassie flees an abusive relationship, and falls victim to a moon-worshiping 600 year old Romanian Countess; a troubled paranormal investigator of Native American heritage finds himself in a deadly love triangle with a battered-woman werewolf."

You can check out the film's trailer here, which has a glimpse of Scrimm's performance.

Phantasm Meets Hellraiser with the CENOSPHERE

Dread Central has the scoop on the latest nightmarish creation from Mark Phillips. Dubbed the Cenosphere, it's a cross between the Tall Man's sphere and Pinhead's Lament Configuration. This tribute prop is, in my opinion, positively glorious! Who wouldn't honestly love a Phantasm/Hellraiser mash-up? My money's always on the Tall guy.

Check out more of Mark's creations at his Nightmares Unlimited Facebook page and learn the backstory of this unusual prop over at Dread Central, who also have a terrific gallery of it.

Phantasm Getting French Blu-Ray Set Next Month

On the heels of this week's news of a ridiculously limited French Blu-Ray set, we've learned that there will also be a standard French Blu-Ray set coming out this Halloween. Amazon France shows a listing for a Phantasm Lintegrale Cult Edition Blu-Ray slated for release on October 31, 2017. Their listing contains a full rundown of extras, which isn't as comprehensive as either the Well Go (USA) or Arrow Video (UK) sets, but still pretty decent. At least one feature on Phantasm II appears to be new (Interview 2017 de Guy Astic et Julien Maury) and may only be relevant to French phans.

This box set is also packing a sixth disc of extras and a new 152-page book written by Marc Toullec, both of which are also part of the limited edition set. Like that set, this one is coming from ESC Collectibles.
