Phantasm Tattoo Gallery

When it comes to ink, you've really got to hand it to Phantasm crowd. Whether it's a tattoo of the Tall Man, a hearse, the spheres, a cast autograph or an entire bloody poster (!), they're more than willing to represent their favorite horror franchise on their person. Collected in this post are more than a dozen Phantasm tattoos. Have a tatt not included here? By all means, send it to me, the Chief Archivist, because I love archiving this sort of thing. Continue reading for the skin art!

New Phan Site on the Block

I want to invite you all to check out a new phan site that's emerged recently called PHANTASMAGORIA. Chocked with graphical charms galore, the site boasts original fan-fiction and stunning 3-D imagery. It's all the work of talented phan Dan Siciliano and I encourage everyone to give it repeat visits. Watch out for spheres as his site is apparently guarded by them!

Fiction: The Eyes That See by S. Mansfield

If the Jebediah Morningside storyline from Phantasm Oblivion intrigued you, then have I got a piece of fan fiction for you! The talented S. Mansfield brings us The Eyes That See, a quite good prequel to the Phantasm series that sheds new light on the origin of a certain character previously shrouded in mystery. Kat Lester Debuts New Album

"Her sole amigo is her alter-ego..."

Many moons back, I reported on a new jazz album coming from that sultry cemetery siren, Kat Lester, and it's now seeing release. You can download Boudoir Rouge via her website. This is slick, stylized jazz that oozes the kind of seduction Kat's performance is known for. As a jazz person myself, I'm wild over this new album.

Fans should especially take note at the track titled 'Lady in Lavender,' which can be purchased for $0.99 on Kat's website or as part of the album for $14. The song is spoken from the point of view of Lady in Lavender character, with plenty of lyrical references any observant fan will positively eat up. It's certainly my favorite track on the disc and I *urge* all fans to download it. I can't give away too many of the song's ultra-cool lyrics (aside from the top line above), but they're all splendid.

VIDEO: James LeGros in Phantasm V?

Here's an interesting video from the very recent Phantasm Archives. Shot during a Q&A at the 2008 Fright Night Film Festival in Louisville, Kentucky, stars Angus Scrimm, Michael Baldwin and Reggie Bannister discuss a surprise cameo by James LeGros that one of the unproduced Phantasm V scripts had suggested. The Wait is Over!

The wait is over! Phantasm II is now officially on DVD from Universal Studios. I picked up my copy this morning from Best Buy, who charged a decent $14.99. The new transfer looks very nice and the menus/rear box art all match the cover, which is all one can really ask for. A satisfying release after all these years.

Gallery: Phantasm @ the Aero Theater

This past Saturday night, Don Coscarelli along with Angus Scrimm, Bill Thornbury, Reggie Bannister, Kathy Lester, Gloria Lynne-Henry and Mark Anthony Major screened the first three Phantasm films at the Aero Theater in lovely Southern California. Major's appearance was a total surprise, albeit a delightful one, for all those in attendance. Fans will recall his memorable turn as an unlucky mortician in Phantasm II. In between features, Coscarelli and the cast fielded audience questions from the stage. We have a terrific photo gallery detailing this event, thanks to the also lovely Kristen Deem. (Thanks Kristen!) Continue reading to see her pictures from the night.
